One day, you're happily writing articles on your Joomla site when you suddenly experience an urgent need to link. When linking to an external website, that's no problem. All the WYSIWYG editors for Joomla include an icon for a simple URL link. And, as an old hand at html, you could probably code an href tag in your sleep. Linking becomes more complicated, however, when linking to articles on your own Joomla site.
If an article is linked to a menu or on a page linked to a menu, you might be able to find the URL with only a small amount of inconvenience. But what if the page isn't linked to any menu? What if you don't want to link the page to a menu?
To make my life easier when dealing with this particular issue, I usually install one of two tools on each Joomla site: (1) the Joomla Content Editor (JCE) or (2) for sites where a different editor is used, Linkr.

Many of our members have asked how to install Joomla on their local desktop or laptop. In our April Virtual Meeting, Greg Wyman of EternalInteractive.com presented an overview of why and how you might want to do this and how to install the necessary applications on your local machine.
